These are a few of my favourite

…words.

First of all, I must thank you lovely friends for your brilliant comments.  Blogging and commenting are rather diminishing at present, which is such a pity – though I’m not complaining because I neither comment nor blog as much as I used to.  However, I’ve met some of my best friends here – whether or not we’ve met in real life – so even if I, tenacious and loving as I am, eventually admit defeat, I will always appreciate the era of the blog.

In no particular order, and often because they remind me of someone, here are some words I like.

Insouciant

Sardonic

Levity

Enthusiastic

Kind

Irony

Funny

Friend

Babycakes

One or two might come into an indication into the nature of you, me or any of us – there’s no judgement or specific value to amy of them and I haven’t given much thought to it – could add a lot more, if I did.

These are words, not descriptions, so whether they’re nouns, adjectives or anything else doesn’t matter at all.

Proper post tomorrow.  Probably.

You notice, by the way, that not one single alcoholic beverage made it on the list – because it’s the wine (or whatever) rather than the word that counts.  All the same, might add to the list tomorrow.  I’ve been up since 4 am and I’m having an early night.

Buttercup, kiddo, loyal, respect, understand, marzipan, friend, confidante, clever, hysterical. My favorite English expression is one you use, “up at lark fart”. It sort of says it all.

The decline of blogging was discussed around your dining table back in May, I vowed to myself that I would both blog more and comment more.

As usual my good intentions haven’t quite been fulfilled in spite of making notes about suitable subjects, it takes me a long while to post as I edit, especially for grammar as the pedant daughter reads it, try to add photos and to make it interesting.

Zoe, please don’t stop, especially as you are at such an interesting time of your life, with a proposed move eventually and I love hearing about the grand children.

Babycakes came (as far as I’m concerned, anyway) from the wonderful Tales of the City.

I’m not planning to stop blogging, I may well be one of the last ones standing – I’m patient and tenacious and it takes a lot to make me give up! But it’s certainly had its heyday and there are many former bloggers whom I miss very much.

I was just reading the beautiful email of encouragement you sent to me in December 2011 when I was clearing out my inbox this morning. I intended to follow your excellent advice and start blogging back then. My determination was reignited this morning when I read your email again. I don’t have as much to whine about now, so, there is hope for me yet.

I’m so glad, thank you. I’ve been through times when I couldn’t blog about daily life – that was usually when I delved back into my childhood or dogs or something. Those posts were always well received, ironically.

Hello Z. I know you’ve closed this correspondence, but could I reopen it for……….. Gumbo ? It’s the answer to one of the Clues in Last Saturday’s Telegraph Prize Crossword, and we think it’s a lovely word. Means a sort of soup made from Okra.
